São Vincente is a land of contrasts. At first sight people seem to be as inhospitable as the volcanic landscape where they were born. As they are knowing you they become very communicative and open their hearts and their smiles from ear to ear, showing a multitude of light and color. This is São Vicente. The mountains are bare and brownish-gray and the few vegetation is such an alive green that stands out. The torrential rain transforms the streets of Mindelo in rivers, brings with it a large amount of land of the surrounding mountains and the city stops completely.
